Q: What is included in Woodharbor’s complimentary design consultation?

A: We ask our clients to bring in dimensions and photos of their space to the first scheduled meeting to review plans, goals, and objectives. Based on the customer provided dimensions of the room, we will create a concept and a budget for the products such as cabinets, countertops, tile, sinks, and plumbing fixtures. We also provide installation, if desired, and give a quote based on the scope of work needed. A second showroom meeting is then scheduled to go over the design presentation and budget.

Q: What is the best way to prepare for my first meeting? What should I bring, and what should I do beforehand to get the most out of my complementary session?

A: Here are five tips:

  1. Make Your Own Scrapbook of Ideas – Pinterest.com and Houzz.com are great websites for inspiration. We suggest you begin pinning/saving/printing out these inspiration photos and creating a portfolio of ideas. Post a note explaining what it is you like about each photo and what you’d like to see incorporated into your space.
  1. Make up a Wish List – Include specific things that you’re trying to add or change about your existing space. Does the current layout make sense? What are your storage needs? Do you need better lighting? What accessories would make your space more efficient? Do you need more counter space? Write it all down.
  1. Go Appliance Shopping – Research appliances online and go shopping just to get an idea of what kind of options are available and what fits in your budget.
  1. Measure Your Existing Kitchen or Bring in Blueprints – Include any door and window locations and ceiling height. Take pictures of the room with your phone or camera to help us visualize what you have measured.
  1. Think About the Budget You’re Considering for the Whole Renovation – We want to help you keep to your proposed budget and we strive to find ways to save you money without compromising quality and function.

Coming in prepared will make for a great first consultation. Allow for a 1 to 1-1/2 hour discussion and review. We will talk about functions, features, and style decisions. Our professional design advice will help save you costly mistakes and leave you with peace of mind knowing that you are doing business with a company that truly cares.
